This pendant was a gift from my good friend Bhante Dhammasubho which is also a Chinese Tea drinkers. He gave shortly after I gave him my favorite Chinese Oolong Tea. I really like this pendant because it so reminds me to continue to diligently practice meditation although unfortunately I don't understand the purpose of writing is behind the pendant. The pendant depicts a buddha posture called Buddha Mudra Bhumisparsa - Calling The Earth To Witness the Truth.

Bhumisparsa mudra is translated as Touching the Earth, or Calling the Earth To Witness the Truth mudra. This hand gesture is always depicted with the right hand, while the left hand is on the lap, with the palm facing outwards (Varada Mudra).

Bhumisparsa mudra is said to be Buddha's hand gesture when he Achieved Enlightenment. It Represents unshaken strength and truth of his commitment to liberation, the which helped Overcome darkness (Mara) challenging him right before he entered the Light.
